Hello, nice to meet you.

We’re a branding, design and web development agency. What, you’ve heard that before, right? We know. Here’s what makes us different – We think that the key to any strong brand, clever website or visual communication is personality. Without it, you just end up with a bland, forgettable design and a user experience that leaves the user cold. By focusing on personality we help businesses interact with their audience, and communicate in the most effective way. We try, whenever possible to cut out all the geek speak and sales talk as we hate that. We’re a happy and approachable bunch who are always ready for a chat over a cuppa (or a game on the Xbox).

The early days…

early days When two Graphic Communication graduates, Tom Lloyd and Mike Jordan finished their degrees, they took their bright eyes and bushy tails and got working on a cunning plan – To start an agency bursting with fresh ideas and bags of personality that could offer both design and web services. Bluegg was born in June 2002. The idea was to start small with local companies and build a reputation. Fate on the other hand, had other plans. Our first 4 jobs came from London, Sweden, Belgium and Portugal! And the rest, as they say is history.

Nowadays…

early days Nine years down the line, Tom and Mike still have the bright eyes (although slightly less bushy tails) and are now part of a talented group of eight. We have built 2 teams of great people, one to specialise in branding and design for print and the other looks after the web and multimedia side. We also have the account team making sure that we have work to do and money in the bank. We’ve now built that reputation we wanted and are known for creating innovative design work with personality (and for being a bit of a laugh to work with).

Our name…

So what is it? Blue egg? Blueegg? Blu egg? Those guys in Newport? No, it’s Bluegg. As in an egg that’s blue, but without the ‘e’. Yeah, we know it’s not how you’d spell it, but it often starts a conversation. We get asked all the time where our name comes from. Well, until we think of something more interesting we’ll go with the truth. Our favourite colour was blue and we wanted to show how fresh our ideas were (what’s fresher than an egg?). We then worked on the logo which was initially based on a typeface and decided that having 2 ‘e’s was just greedy so we dropped one. See, we told you we need something more interesting!
